1. Agreement to these terms
By using Pantry, you agree to these terms. If you are not legally able to agree yourself, a parent or guardian must review and agree to them for you.
Your use of the iPhone app is also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, unless a different agreement is shown through the App Store.
2. What Pantry does
Pantry helps users organise household shopping, stock, storage locations, expiry dates and NFC-tag actions. It can work locally on one iPhone. Optional account features allow household information to synchronise and be shared with invited members.
Pantry is currently provided without charge. No charge will be introduced without making the price and any additional terms clear before you choose to purchase anything.
3. Accounts and sign-in
You must provide accurate information and keep your device, email account, Apple Account or Google Account secure.
Do not share email sign-in links, authentication credentials or other account-access information. Contact support promptly if you believe someone has gained unauthorised access.
Apple, Google and your email provider have their own terms and privacy policies, which also apply when you use their services.
5. Your content and acceptable use
You retain your rights in names, lists and other content you enter. You give Pantry a limited permission to host, copy, transmit, synchronise and display that content only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service and make it available to authorised household members.
You must not use Pantry to:
- enter or share unlawful, abusive, threatening or infringing material;
- attempt to access another account or household without permission;
- interfere with Pantry’s security, operation or reasonable usage limits;
- distribute malicious code or probe the service for vulnerabilities without authorisation; or
- store passwords, payment-card information, government identifiers, health records or other highly sensitive information for which Pantry is not designed.
6. Food and expiry information
Expiry dates, quantities, locations and reminders depend on information entered by users and may be missing, inaccurate, delayed or out of date. A date shown by Pantry does not establish whether food is safe to eat.
Always inspect food, follow packaging and official food-safety guidance, and use your own judgement. Do not rely on Pantry where an error could cause injury, illness or significant loss.
8. Availability and changes
I will use reasonable care in providing Pantry, but uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be promised. Internet access, Supabase, Apple, Google and other third-party services can affect cloud features.
Features may change to improve Pantry, maintain security or comply with law. Reasonable notice will be given where a change materially affects users.
Keep an independent record of anything particularly important. Pantry is not intended to be a sole backup or permanent records system.
9. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using Pantry at any time. You can sign out, delete local data, remove the app or request permanent account deletion from the account screen.
Access may be limited or suspended where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, enforce service limits, comply with law or maintain the service. Where appropriate, an opportunity to resolve the issue will be provided.
Account deletion may require you first to transfer or permanently delete households you own. Shared household content may remain available to other members as explained in the Privacy Notice.
10. Intellectual property, responsibility and legal rights
Pantry’s software, design, branding and original website content belong to Sam Agnew or the relevant licensors. Your permitted use is personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable, subject to Apple’s usage rules and applicable law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, Sam Agnew is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate user-entered information, another household member’s actions, failure to follow food-safety guidance, use outside Pantry’s intended purpose, or events outside reasonable control.
11. Applicable law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by applicable UK law. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings provided by the law that applies where you live.
These terms may be updated when Pantry or applicable law changes. The latest version and update date will appear here. Material changes will be communicated appropriately.
